FOGBOX IMPROVEMENTS

Hello everyone!
In our last update, you’ve seen our team work rigorously on making the FogBox the very best product it can be. We’ve done thorough and long term testing on the FogBox. After months, we learned most colored and clear acrylic parts allowed light to enter the FogBox and encouraged algae to grow. After consulting with industry experts, our design team and our half dozen suppliers, the best solution was to make the base of the FogBox in black so no light can enter which also encourages root growth. Our design team and suppliers went even further, we reached out to our suppliers looking for the most beautiful shade of black. After many iterations and rigorously looking for the very best solution, we decided to invest into custom making our very own shade of black. We call it BATMAN BLACK! We want to make sure that your FogBox performs as promised even after months of use and multiple harvest!
Our GroBox team has also been looking at more ways to improve the functionality and aesthetics of the FogBox. We’ve been investigating ways to hide the cable of the LED lighting unit better, and we’re please to report we’ve found a solution! The LED lighting unit will no longer have a cable hanging from the back of the LED light, and instead will feature a cable integrated carefully into the acrylic. There will also be a water level indicator window on the side of the FogBox so that you can keep an eye on your water level without having to remove the tray!

WAIT, there’s more! ;) We added a much larger grow tray rather than the five individual plant spots featured in the original FogBox prototype. The grow tray will allow you rearrange the plants in your FogBox however you like, and will allow 300% more space for your plants to grow! Vents on the bottom of the grow tray will still allow the fog to reach your plants’ roots, and we’re happy to report that our office’s FogBox has been growing better than ever!

So you’ve caught onto the new fad of Aeroponics and is curious on how much you can really save from using a FogBox. The good news is that the value goes well beyond than just saving money on your grocery bills a week – there’s also the benefit of not needing much space, minimal maintenance and next to nothing of waste production.
Let’s take a further look at how these gadgets can save you a lot of money…
As an example; If you live in Los Angeles, with only a small apartment, then this option would at first seem unimaginable.
However, if you were that person, this is how the Fog Box would improve not only your finance, but your health and well being too (in an eco-friendly and efficient manner).
1# Less purchases required for grocery shopping
The price of fruit, vegetables and herbs is increasing by the day, so by growing your own crops, this is the very obvious money saver.
Not only will you reduce grocery bills, you will also experience these other benefits from growing your own crops.
You know it’s 100% organic because you sourced the whole growing process.
Be totally sure that your produce isn’t contaminated with pesticides (even organic labelled foods are being exposed for dishonesty on the crop’s growing process).
Your crop doesn’t get fresher than homegrown (Some food sources can take weeks from being cultivated to then reaching the grocery store’s destination) – so this will drastically improve the quality and freshness of your meals.
In Los Angeles, the average weekly cost of the recommended diet, totals to around $20 - $30 per person. If you can make space for a Fog Box, then this can deduct 60% of your shopping bills – if eating a healthy diet.

Unlike Hydroponics, the Fog Box has removed the need for using large amounts of water, expensive fertilizer and nutrients.
Instead, the plants requirements are provided in the vapor mist, which is applied to the roots when being suspended in mid-air. This also benefits the plant roots, as the vapor is able to reach 100% of the root area; resulting in guaranteed maximum growth.
NASA successfully grew potatoes through this method back in the nineties, but since then Fogponic products have began to take this to the next level.

Hey everyone!
Thank you all so much for your support, we’re so excited that we were able to hit $40,000! All of us at the GroBox team can’t wait to share with you what we’ve been working on, and we’re so excited that this project could become reality!
WORK IN PROGRESS
We’ve also been doing a lot of product testing with the FogBox prototype we’ve had so we can work out the kinks before the final version hits production. One of the issues that came up during our product testing was that the FogBox with clear walls allowed algae growth. To remedy this, we’ve redesigned the FogBox so that it now comes with a Matte Black finish instead of the clear acrylic in the campaign pictures.

The silver finish of the LED lights in this version will be matte black for final production.
The new, all black finish of the FogBox will prevent algae from growing within the water reservoir and give the Fogbox a sleek, new look! The top of the LED light fixture will also come with a matte black finish to go with the redesigned base. We think the redesigned Fogbox looks even better than before!
Functionality of the FogBox has not been affected, and the prototype in our office has been growing our basil well! As we’ve stated before, the fogger discs are expected to last ~5000 hours each and each FogBox will come with 3 discs - more discs will be available as an optional add-on.
We’re continuing to make improvements with our FogBox design as needed, and we can’t wait to show you the final production version with everyone!
